Thiazide diuretik boleh menyebabkan hiperglisemia dan glycosuria pada pasien dengan diabetes. Mereka juga mungkin mengendapkan diabetes di prediabetic pesakit. Kesan-kesan yang biasanya balik berikut pemberhentian ubat-ubatan. Terapi dengan thiazide diuretik perlu diberikan berhati-hati pesakit dengan kencing manis, glukosa bertoleransi, atau kecenderungan untuk hiperglisemia. Pesakit dengan manis perlu dipantau lebih dekat pada thiazide terapi, dan mereka antidiabetik regimen diselaraskan oleh itu.
