Thiazide diuretik penurunan kadar asam urat penyingkiran. Hyperuricemia berlaku sering tetapi biasanya tanpa gejala dan jarang membawa kepada klinis encok kecuali pada pasien dengan sejarah encok atau kronik gagal ginjal. Terapi dengan thiazide diuretik perlu diberikan berhati-hati dalam apa-apa pasien.
