Penggunaan nitroimidazoles (contohnya, metronidazole, tinidazole) telah dikaitkan dengan perkembangan sistem saraf keracunan termasuk sawan sawan dan dos yang berkaitan dengan pinggiran neuropati, kedua ciri-ciri terutamanya oleh kebas atau paresthesia yang hujung.
