Beta-adrenergic reseptor menyekat agen (aka beta-blocker) boleh topeng gejala selepas itu seperti yang tremors, tachycardia dan perubahan tekanan darah. Di samping itu, nonselective beta-blocker (contohnya, propranolol, pindolol, timolol) boleh menghalang catecholamine-diselesaikan glikogenolisis, itu potentiating insulin yang disebabkan oleh pesakit dan melambatkan pemulihan tahap gula darah yang normal. Sejak cardioselectivity tidak mutlak, dos yang lebih besar beta-1 terpilih agen mungkin menunjukkan kesan-kesan yang baik.
